A new patient visit involves taking a full medical history, a thorough orthopaedic and neurological examination and then providing a report of findings before any treatment is provided, if it is considered appropriate to do so. We also give patients an approximation of the number of sessions required to help them. If it is appropriate to refer a patient to another practitioner or for further investigation before commencing treatment, with your consent this will be done.
Male patients would normally be examined in their underwear or undressed to the waist, and female patients in their underwear but also wearing a gown. If any female patients are concerned about this requirement, please discuss it with the chiropractor who will perhaps advise you on wearing clothes which may be a suitable alternative.
